Phew! This week I inherited a bunch of new toys and gadgets. These include a GE Digital Alarm Clock, a North Face sling bag, and a 2015 Amazon Kindle. All of these were gifts from my family members.

The GE Alarm Clock has been untouched for years. I decided to put it on my nightstand to make it easier to tell the time when I’m laying in bed. It’s especially helpful during afternoon siestas because it allows me to lay down without having to first wear my Garmin Fenix. (It may sound silly, but being able to skip one step when you’re tired is great.) The one possible downside to the alarm clock is that its watch face could be a little bright at night, but with my sleep eye mask that shouldn’t be a concern.

The North Face satchel sling bag was a gift from mom and is supposed to serve the same role as a fanny pack. With its flowery design and pink interior, it looks a little bit girly, but I’m fine with that. (Function > Form FTW.) Anyway, I decided to adopt the satchel bag because of all my recent dates with Shannon. My cargo pants pockets simply don’t have enough capacity to hold everything when I’m on the go. For those wondering, I keep the following in my bag: wallet, handkerchiefs, Jabra 65t earbuds, face masks, eyeglasses case, USB lightning cable, USB charging cube, and coupons.

The Amazon Prime Day sale on Monday + Tuesday convinced my dad to buy a brand new Kindle Paperwhite and several months of Kindle Unlimited. (The sale price for the Paperwhite was $79.99, down $50 from the usual $129.99). His shiny new gadget allowed him to finally part ways with his old Kindle and I quickly snatched it up. To try out Kindle Unlimited (which is family-shared) I started reading Factfulness by Hans Rosling. The 6” screen size is a little small, but overall I like what I see so far.

PS: finished watching season one of Better Call Saul and season one of Demon Slayer
